This message was given by Pastor Jonathan Stobbs as he continued his evening ministry in the Book of 1 Samuel. The demise of Saul’s reign and his final judgement will provide the backdrop for the rise of God’s man, David. The Lord grants to Saul the opportunity to be faithful and obey Him once more, to prove himself, but Saul fails, lies about his failure, and there are consequences to his sin. Saul would always make excuses rather than acknowledge his sin, the time when we do see a type of confession, it is only to keep face with the people, rather than repent before the Lord. It didn’t matter what it was, Saul always found a way to blame someone else, concerned for his image, and position with the people rather than pleasing God. Pastor Stobbs examines the sovereign decree of judgement on the Amalekites, before looking at Saul's disobedience, and Samuel's task to confront Saul with truth. In this message he speaks of the need for a proclamation of the Gospel in its entiretly through tears of concern. He also speaks of the need for faithfulness and obedience in the Christian life. An encouraging message that challenges the believer to walk a path of faith and obedience.
