In fact, his prayer for himself reveals something majestic and humbling. THE POINT: He asked to be glorified because that was God’s purpose and wanted to be glorified so that He could glorify the Father. Applications 1. Pray so that you can endure the trial and not escape it. 2. Pray according to God’s will. 3. Pray with confidence in God your heavenly Father. 4. Pray with an eye to God’s glory. 5. Pray while being persuaded of God’s good and wise providence. 6. Pray as a sinner in need. 7. Know that your prayers are heard on account of Christ’s sacrificial death and mediation.
