SERMON INFO
The popular eschatology of our day does not stand up to scrutiny when examined by the Word of God. In this sermon, Pastor Matt is able to present a view which takes the popular view to task. This sermon is important because what we believe theologically affects how we govern our lives – and this is true of eschatology. The present popular eschatology has neutralized the Church, and our nation – and more importantly Christ's kingdom – is reaping the bad fruit of a 150 years of this abherrant teaching. This sermon goes through the Mt. Olivet discourse by going through Mark 13 verse by verse. Are the things spoken of by Christ in this passage yet future as many proclaim, or have they already taken place? Listen to the evidence given – and decide for yourself. MercySeat.net 71 min.

“ Great Sermon! ”
Would be able to agree with this ( well set out) preterist eschatology but for one thing- mark 13 vs 26 and 27. It simply cannot be explained away and I think we must challenge at that point. The rapture will be over before anyone knows it ( in a twinkling of an eye). Resurrected and raised from the dead to meet Jesus in the sky, with no signs to look for - the event thats only sign is no Sign ( lots of biblical prophecy to describe this) and then a second coming which is proceeded by signs and of which will occur at the end of the tribulation and of which a knowledgable bible scholar will be able to warn of). Good try tho !!!!

“ Common Sense may say otherwise! ”
In the interest of "edifying" and an encouragement to test the spirits for truth, I present this common sense perspective. - Luke 21:37 “And in the day he was teaching in the temple: and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives.” Matthew 24:3 “And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Here, now much later in the day, in private, Jesus lays out to his disciples an overview, a tapestry if you will of signs and things to come and what leads up to the end. This is an overview of the Christian era. History confirms we have seen and heard of wars and rumors of wars; likewise we have seen nations and kingdoms rise against one another as well as famines, pestilences and earthquakes in divers places throughout the past 1,900 years - common sense tells us Jesus foretold of the Christian era and it just simply can not pertain to a mere 70 year period. What was said earlier in the day was a different time and place – the destruction of the temple has nothing to do with what transpires and is said in the evening, on the mount of olives, a half days walk from the temple, later in th
