We look at what the scripture has to say about the Shepherd. In particular the contrast between the good shepherd and the bad. A good shepherd uses their power to care for the flock. The bad shepherd uses their power to benefit themselves. This shepherding concept is used as a metaphor for a good spiritual leader and a bad spiritual leader. It is also used to describe a political leader or king in scripture they can be a like a good shepherd who cares for the well being of the flock or they be a bad shepherd and take advantage of the people.
