A Saturday Evening Prayer of Preparation for the Lord's Day
O Father, Son, and Holy Spirit prepare my heart for worship. Pardon all my sins, I confess them now before You… Please do not look on my unworthiness but look upon the righteousness of my Savior, Jesus Christ, and receive my worship and thanksgiving because of Him. Help me now to meditate on Your Word in Galatians 5 and to sing Your praise for the grace of the Holy Spirit who sanctifies me. Help me to sing these hymns tonight with a grateful heart, so that I might sing them to my brothers and sisters as we gather for Your praise
tomorrow morning.
As you inhabit the praises of Israel, dwell in the praises of Your congregation at Anniston Bible Church. Let our sacrifice of praise be acceptable to You, and protect us from insincere and thoughtless formality. Cause our hearts to burn with holy delight as we hear the Living Word! Awaken Your congregation to love one another. Remove from us the rush and hurriedness of earthly things; help us to take time to listen and speak Christ to each other.
Awaken Your congregation tomorrow morning with joyful hearts of praise. Rebuke the devil in all of his strategies to hinder us from gathering in the name of Christ. Help us to believe Your promise that You dwell with Your people.
