This sermon was delivered on the subject dealing with Total Depravity. With the Scripture text being used from Romans 3:9-12, this lesson was taught by the Pastor of the Princess Chapel Church, Brother Douglas Salyer.
It deals with a very controversial doctrine of the total inability and depraved nature of mankind; it further deals with the doctrine of predestination and election based on the Sovereignty of God. In that how God works in the Salvation of the totally depraved man.
-It is God who makes us born again, and not of our own will; John 1:13 -It is God who grants that we come to Jesus; John 6:65 -It is God who ordains men to believe; Acts 13:48 -It is God who predestines us to be conformed to the image of His Son; Romans 8:29 -It is God who saves us not by our will, but by His will; Romans 9:16 -It is God who chooses us to be holy and blameless; Ephesians 1:4 -It is God who chooses us for salvation; II Thessalonians 2:13 -It is God who saves according to His own purpose; II Timothy 1:9 -It is God who gives us repentance; II Timothy 2:24-25 -It is God who causes us to be begotten; I Peter 1:3

Great Sermon! Dear Bro. Salyer,
I just want to express my gratitude to our Lord in your behalf, I just wanted to encourage you my brother in the Lord! Many probably will not understand the doctrine of predestination and wonder what has happened to you! But brother, that is the beauty of it, God's ways is not our ways, neither His thoughts.
It is the most exciting thing when the Holy Spirit opens your eyes to see this beautiful truth, it is the most humbling experience when we finally 'get it!'
I was searching for answers for many years to this conundrum, I wanted to believe, as a matter of fact, I never grasped this knowledge of perfection until I moved back to Memphis,TN. 2006. The Holy Spirit gave me an understanding that I truly longed for! When God removed the scales off my eyes, I could truly shout 'glory to God' for His gracious amazing grace!
One thing always stood out in my mind, If God could choose Israel, why wouldn't He be able to chose others, He is the Creator, and a creator has the right to choose at his leisure with out the input of man, angel or beast! He is the Sovereign One, and He does as He pleases, Romans 9:14-26; John 6:38, 39;44; Deut.7:6; I compared Deut. to 1Peter 2:4,9-10 and as you know there are plenty others scriptures that prove only one thing, God is Sovere
