Romans Chapter 1 reveals the unrighteous of man, and shows how degraded man becomes when he rejects God. We see it in the news everyday – murders, rapes, school shootings, etc. When you take the sanctity of life (the bible and God) out of life, society degrades.
Romans Chapter 2 reveals how man becomes self-righteous in his behavior and attitude after rejecting God.
Vs1: The word “man” means all humans. All of us are capable of some or all of the sins of the flesh listed in chapter 1:29-32. People, without God, degrade to evil wicked beings. Vs2: God judges truly. Humans do not, so be careful in condemning others because in the right circumstances, you would do the same thing. Vs3: God will hold every human being accountable for his/her deeds. No one will escape judgement. You reap what you sow. Vs4: Listen, God has been long-suffering with mankind. He has warned man of all the evil wicked things he should guard against, yet we still reject him. None of us would be so patient with our children. We would discipline our kids quickly. But God is patient with us and gives us opportunity to repent. Vs5: God is only going to be patient so long, then He'll say “enough is enough” and He'll start chastising misbehaving people. Revelation will happen because of the rejection of God by men. Vs6: You reap what you sow. What you do you will pay for one way or another. Vs7: there are people who are seeking God's will because they are seeking His will and they will get rewards in heaven. Vs8: those who are argumentative or disruptive are not happy.
