In first Peter (3:15-16), we are encouraged to revere Christ in our hearts as Lord. This is a call to submission in recognition of his Lordship in our lives. As an act of our obedience we should be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks us to give the reason for the HOPE that we have. In this passage, the good apostle underscores that, anyone who is in Christ has HOPE. It's like we cannot separate Christ and true HOPE. We cannot have HOPE without having Christ, and we cannot have Christ and not have HOPE!
But, how do we prepare to give a reason for our HOPE? I believe one of the most effective ways is to always be ready to tell our story. And we should do it with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear con conscience, so that those who are against our faith in Christ may be ashamed and those who believe may find HOPE. Our story is an effective tool in sharing the gospel, because it is always a story of HOPE. Our HOPE in Christ is our story!
"If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied."
The primary purpose for sharing our faith is to give HOPE while using PEPSI!
