When the writer of Hebrews says in verse 3 that Jesus is the "exact imprint of his nature" he's not simply stating that Christ looks like God, has god like characteristics, or even in the image of God like the rest of humanity. No the imagery is that God's very nature has been stamped on human flesh. That is, Jesus Christ is fully God represented in flesh. And so being fully God in the flesh, Jesus Christ perfectly fulfilled the role of prophet, to reveal the invisible God. And who better to reveal the invisible God, but God Himself taking on a visible, human form?
