This is the forth message from Philippians 3:12-21 that deals with progressive sanctification in the Christian life.
The admonition that Paul gives us in these verses is this: Carefully observe those who walk after the apostolic pattern of the Christian life, because there are many fake models of the Christian life.
There are three persons/groups that Paul says are the right kind of models (3:17), but there are "many" that are not. He warns us about these false models and then identifies them for us in these terms: -Their non-allegience -Their destination -Their god -Their glory -Their mind-set
The message closes with advise on avoiding wrong models and identifying the right ones in the Christian life.
