In 6:7-8 the writer tells us a tale of two soils in order to summarize his thought on apostasy. On the one hand, a land that is healthy and the rain falls on it, it produces good fruit. This represents a genuine Christian who receives the blessings of God that rains down on them, causing them to grow, resulting in good works that glorify their Father in heaven and ultimately ends in their eternal communion with God.
On the other hand, a land that is sick, though too receiving life giving rain, does not produce good fruit but thorn and thistles. This represents the apostate's heart though having received God's continual blessings that His church receives. However, they only produce sinful works that shames the Father in heaven resulting in their final destiny to be bound and eternally suffer hell-fire.
