A makeover is a radical change in appearance. Makeovers are popular on television. Christianity is not simply about making superficial changes to one's outward appearance or behavior, but rather about a deep, internal transformation of the heart and character, brought about by a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It's a fundamental change in one's identity and goals, not just a cosmetic alteration. It is heart transformation where God changes your inner being, your values, and your motivations, not just your actions. Christians believe that this transformation is achieved through God's grace and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, not by personal effort alone. This transformation is considered a continuous process throughout one's life. A true Christian is called by Jesus and follows Him. People have a seemingly endless capacity for rationalization. But Jesus only receives people who plead guilty. The church is a society of sinners, but Christians have a strange habit of forgetting that. The self-righteous don't like Jesus for they prefer self-defense. It is always a matter of trust! Jesus invites us to see him as a spiritual physician. He does not set up an office and wait for people to come to him. He makes house calls. Grace is the way of Jesus. He reached out to Matthew and accepted Matthew as he was. It is the same with the Pharisees and with you and me. Jesus came to call sinners. He came to call sinners because there is no one else to call! Jesus refuses the self-righteous since they live the lie that they do not need Him.
