We are approaching the end of our study of Paul’s First Epistle to the Thessalonians. Beginning with 5:12, the apostle gave forth his concluding remarks to this church. From verse 12 unto the end of the epistle (v. 28), we have a series of exhortations and commandments. Actually there are 16 total, 18 if the benediction is also considered. We begin to work through these today. By the way, please be aware that these notes have not been fully edited for accuracy in grammar and spelling. I noticed when I was in the pulpit last Lord’s Day that last week’s notes had a number of glaring “typos.” I type each sermon in its entirety every Saturday, and then when I wake early on the Lord’s Day I read the text once, making corrections that I notice. I must have been somewhat “rummy” last week after returning from my time in South Africa. I apologize for the roughness of that “rough draft.”
