When Jesus establishes His kingdom here on earth, the world will celebrate three of the six festivals from Leviticus 23: Passover, Feast of Unleavened Bread, and Feast of Tabernacles. The one major feast not observed in the Kingdom will be the Day of Atonement. Why? Because Jesus Christ has once for all offered His blood in heaven for our atonement. Forgiveness of sins has forever been bought with the precious blood of Christ. So, why will there still be blood sacrifices during the Kingdom Age? Blood sacrifices will not look forward, but rather backward as a memorial to Christ's death on the cross, just as the Lord's Supper today looks backwards as a memorial. Blood sacrifices during the Kingdom Age will also be for ritual cleansing of the temple and its furnishing. Only blood can cleanse from sin. But the glorious presence of God will once again be dwelling here on earth in the midst of a sinful, unclean people. So, the temple will need to be cleansed to protect God's glory.
