Some people have no idea of what it is to have a conviction. Believing something so passionately that you are willing to die for it, is a concept that is foreign to vast segments of society. Conviction in the face of huge costs is an issue in Daniel 1. Even when anonymity is guaranteed, conviction will not back down. It comes from deep inside. Nor does it shrink away when it brings danger to the convicted person. Conviction ends up impacting other people--some it irritates, some it amazes. People with true conviction do not follow through on their convictions because they think it will bring them success in this world. No. They do so because they know that God is in control of all things and this is what He requires! Personal conviction only sees God when it looks at circumstances. Conviction took Jesus to death and it may take you to death. But look at the fruit Jesus is enjoying, and that you too will enjoy.
