How can two pennies given quietly by a widow produce billions in the last 2,000 years? What kind of investment was it? An eternal one! The Lord Jesus Christ, by his telling of her story, has turned those two copper coins into a continuing wealth of instruction and motivation for his Church to give to the work of Christian ministry with generous hearts and sacrificial faith. The subject before us is very heart-searching. On no other issue do Christians struggle so much as in the matter of giving money to God's kingdom. We must us judge our giving, that we may not be judged by the Master. Let us remember that although Christ's work does not depend on our money, Christ is pleased to test the reality of our faith by allowing us to help him. We will all give an account for our use of the time, talents and treasure that God has entrusted to us in this life.
