The little book of Jude tells us that God calls and loves and keeps his own people and keeps them to the end. But they are surrounded with blatant and proud insurgents who take the teaching of God's grace and replace it with a claim that anyone can do whatever they like. We are all affected by this constant claim and its attendant lewdness. These would-be teachers may not have infiltrated the church, but their teaching may well infect our minds and turn our affections away from our Lord Jesus Christ.
Remembering how God has judged such falsehood in the past, and knowing that such opposition is to be expected, prepares us to resist what such 'teachers' offer. But, more importantly, we are to keep ourselves in the love of God. It is this God who keeps us until the last day.
