Aim: To seek the Lord with all our hearts—by the grace of Christ.
Exegesis: Seeking the Lord requires God's electing grace. God often calls those whom we would not expect (v. 1), and sometimes hardens those who should know better (vv. 2-5). Seeking the Lord bears Christ's pleasant fruit. God's chosen people have a savory effect on the world (v. 8), are given the charge of the world (v. 9), and enhance His glory in the world (v. 10).
Key verse: v. 1 ''I was sought by those who did not ask for Me; I was found by those who did not seek Me. O said, 'Here I am, here I am,' to a nation that was not called by My name.''
