Today we come to a marvelous passage and section in holy Scripture. This is such an important passage that, we here at GRBC, want to make sure that we fully understand what the Biblical truth is. We are going to spend as much time as necessary for the next several weeks, possibly a month or so, coming to a full understanding of the Biblical teaching of God The Trinity. Today you are going to expierence a full introduction, and I'm not certain that we will get much farther than that. If I told you that I love God, would you agree? What if I said, I love Jesus, would you say Amen? But how many time's this week have you prayed to, sang to, worshipped, or magnified, God the Trinity? Could you honestly say "I love the Trinity?" Are you functionally Triniterian or,are you just a Practicing "Monotheist?" My Prayer is that when we finish this study, you will be able to say "I Love the Trinity," and you will know why. What you believe about God is the most important fact in your life:
If you claim salvation, and you believe that God has saved you, and yet you believe in a different god, than the One True God of Scripture, then you are a false convert, as we read from the 1689 LBCF, which doctrine of the Trinity is the foundation of all our communion with God, and comfortable dependence on him. For example: If you are Mormon, and you claim Christ as savior, and God, is that the same as Biblical Christianity? Would you say "We worship God as a Trinity that is defined as three gods in one." Perhaps you might say that "There is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in three manifestations: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.." |
