In this text, Daniel's vision continues and he meets one like the sons of men who explains that he has been sent to Daniel so that Daniel might understand the vision and what will happen to Daniel's people in the distant future. This text is critical to our understanding of the remainder of the book of Daniel and our understanding of history in general, but it also reveals how God may act in the world. Like previous passages in Daniel, we see that God answers prayer and are given a glimpse into how He answers Daniel. If God would send angels to answer Daniel's prayer, how much more should we be motivated to pray, having the Holy Spirit with us?
