Sermon Outline for Sunday, December 28, 2014 Senior Pastor R. Rubino Rated Mature: God’s Will or Man’s Effort? (Ephesians Part 1) I Text: 1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus: (Ephesians 1:1) II Doctrine: The Apostle Paul is exhorting the Ephesians to remain faithful in the doctrines of our Lord Jesus Christ. Christians must have the Sovereign God of the Bible as their foundation of faith. We are adopted children of God because of God’s will not ours. Mature believers will always have God’s will as the reference point for their faith. III Reasons: 1. Jesus Christ by His own free will redeemed His Church. (Officer Ramos Article; John 10:11-18) 2. Paul’s own conversion story illustrates God’s sovereignty in the redemption of Man. (Acts 9:1-9) 3. Many Christians still miss the meaning of the Book of Job because of their resistance to God’s sovereign will. Job is restored after acknowledging God’s sovereignty and walking by faith. (Job 38:1-13; 42) IV Application: 1. We must live our lives based on faith in God’s revealed word. (Habakkuk 2:1-4) 2. Even in the darkest of times we must submit to God’s will. (Habakkuk 3:17-19) 3. The Church in the West must once again proclaim the Gospel of the sovereign Jesus Christ, or we will be destroyed. (Always remember the Book of Revelation as a Warning)
