Jesus, the Great I Am - Message 6 - I Am the Vine. Jesus is the true vine, His Father is the vinedresser who cultivates and cares for the vine, and we are the branches. His purpose is seen in our bearing fruit to the glory of the Father. So what happens if we do not bear fruit, or if we bear bad fruit? Jesus tells us that we must abide in Him and then shows us the great care the Father takes to sanctify and prune us so that we might be more fruitful. As we abide and bear fruit we also need to be aware of how the world will react toward us. This lesson then covers the depths of love and the reality of hate in a fallen world.
