What are we to learn from the example of Jesus' humility displayed in His incarnation & His crucifixion? Humility. We, who are in Christ, are summoned to live like Christ: in humility. Humility cannot be cultivated alone. It is only fostered in relationships with others. Paul therefore urges us to do nothing motivated by pride, but relate to one another in humility. Do not be selfish, but be concerned for others. To do this, we must remember ourselves as we relate to each other. We must remember our tendency to selfishness so that we can then forget about ourselves as we relate to each other. We must forget our own concerns so that we can see the concerns of others. Seeing other's concerns is a large part of our problem. Then, we must remember Christ as we relate to each other, for as we treat each other in Christ, so it is that we treat Christ Himself. May we have the attitude of Christ to minster the love of Christ to God's people as though we were ministering to Christ Himself.
