Today is the best day to celebrate this coming year because it is the first day of the rest of your life; you have the benefit of memories, experiences, and lessons learned that you did not have last year; yesterday is history, and we cannot do anything about what has already happened; and tomorrow and the future have not arrived yet, which leaves today to be the best day and only day to celebrate a new beginning because it is the only day at the moment left to celebrate. Yesterday's choices do not determine today's choices. Yesterday's mistakes do not prevent us from making good choices today. The mercies of God are new every morning because they are opportunities from God to let us try again. The mercies of God make having another chance to do better possible.
