In our modern age the concept of Christian liberty or freedom has been twisted. This concept of freedom looks more like the American model of liberty rather than a Christian one. Paul leaves little doubt of the defintion of Christian liberty. The first and foremost implication of our Christian freedom is that we are no longer under the bondage of sin and death due to Jesus' sacrifice and death on the cross. Second, while Paul acknowledges that we are no longer bound by the ceremonial laws of the Old Testament, this doesn't mean we are free to do whatever we please. We are to think of our brothers and sisters above ourselves by not insisting that we are free to do what we like regardless of how it affects our witness before others.
