The titles for Jesus are very important because they discribe the office or type that Jesus is fullfilling. This office is totally unique to Jesus alone, as Jesus alone is the eternal Son of God, the second Person of the Trinity. Last week we began what I pray is an indepth an revealing study into the Person and Deity of Jesus the Second person of the Trinity. The amazing introduction of Jesus Christ, into public ministry, is the most uniquely unparalleled event in history. As we saw last week Jesus came into this world at the decree of God, As the singularly anointed and promised Messiah. Jesus, the Son of God, was predetermined to be the Messiah that would take away the sin of the World. In the Old and New Testaments, there are a multitude of names and titles, that are attributed to Jesus. Here are just a few of those Names and Titles. Advocate. Alpha and Omega.. Angel of the Lord. Apostle. Arm of the Lord. Beginning of the creation of God. Bread of life.Captain of the host of the Lord. Chosen one. Consolation of Israel.Door.Eternal life. Eternal Father. Jesus fulfilled all these offices, held all these titles and is named by all these names. and we could speak for months about the importance of each of these names and titles or offices. However, not to unduly belabor the point, I want to break down a few of these in the coming weeks so that we understand what was happening in Luke 3:21-22, at the time that Jesus was being Baptised and presented. Now,while Jesus fullfilled all these offices, He did not do so at His own whim or under His own authority and decree.
