"Jerusalem was doomed, because they had sinned openly, constantly, consistently, for centuries against the will of God." When God removed His blessing from the Temple in Jerusalem as a chastisement for His people's sins, Daniel and his three friends suffered. Daniel, however, was not swayed by his circumstances when he was carried away to Babylon, but stood on the principles of God's Word in the midst of great dificulty.
