The books of 1 & 2 Kings, as one book, was given during the Babylonian exile of Judah. In our contemporary situation, we are becoming more like people in exile, as our society rejects the public values of Judeo-Christian ethics. These two books provide a blueprint of how to live in exile and how to maintain the ultimate priority: worshiping God.
