He doesn't say, 'don't show favoritism.' He says, 'Stop showing favoritism.' It is happening and it must stop! Sinful people saved by the Soveriegn Grace of God betray that faith when they act in favoritism towards others. In order to show favoritism you must look of others in light of yourself and yet when you were saved it came when you took your eyes off yourself all together and looked in hope to Jesus alone. It is a betrayal of the look of saving faith. Stop it!
