We continue our exposition of Luke's gospel and consider Herod's troubled conscience after the murder of John the Baptist. We see that for a time his conscience is haunted by the murder of John, but his conscience will become so seared, he will even seek to murder Jesus Christ Himself. In this we observe what our conscience testifies to us and when it is in tune and out of tune - when it rightly accuses us of our sin in which case to ignore it would be to sear our conscience, and when it wrongly accuses us of condemnation if we are in Christ. Preached from Luke 9:7-10 and Mark 6:14-31.
