As discerning as we need to be as information consumers, we must be much more determined to recognize truth from error spiritually. False teachers and sloppy messengers sow confusion among God’s people, and distort the gospel. “… test the spirits, whether they are of God” 1 John 4:1 (NKJV). Not every message nor messenger claiming to be from God is true. But He has blessed us with powerful safeguards to keep us from falling prey to false messages. I look forward to our time together this Sunday as we consider, “Real Christianity: Test the Spirits.”
