In this sermon, Dr Bacon continues to expound upon the biblical idea of a prudent wife, found in Proverbs 19 and who is the blessing of Psalm 128.
He deals with two more principles of a prudent wife. The first is that while the prudent wife comes from the Lord and not from parents, nevertheless parents should take a considerable part in raising their sons to find prudent wives and their daughters to be prudent wives. The final principle is that a prudent wife is really none other than the virtuous wife of Proverbs 31:10-31. Dr. Bacon expounds upon seven characteristics of a prudent wife and tells men they have to be God's men before they can expect to find such a woman.
