This sermon addresses the magistrates of Micah's day - how the land was in want of godly magistrates. Wicked magistrates ruled the land. And that is where we are with the magistrates in America in our day.
Law does not depend upon the State for its existence. Divine, transcendent law exists apart from the State. The State is to be subject to God's law – and when they spurn His law – the result is lawlessness under the color of law. Law actually becomes a predator of the good.
When the magistrates are allowed to make evil through law – every aspect of society eventually breaks down. The basic order of society breaks down. Even family goes to ruin.
This sermon then reveals three henchmen that cause the lesser magistrates not to interpose. The sermon then ends with an exhortation regarding the sovereignty of God. 35 min. MercySeat.net
