It seemed like all of America imagined they had found a hero last week with the lavish inauguration of its 44th President, Barack Hussein Obama.
Subsequent days did - and coming months will - prove them wrong in their assessment.
However, though he was quickly swamped by the wave of ‘Obamania’ that swept in afterwards, a true hero was in operation in America over the past couple of weeks.
I refer to Chesley Sullenberger III, pilot of US Airways Flight 1549, who, on January 15, 2009, saved the lives of all 155 persons on board his Airbus A320 when he glided it onto the surface of the River Hudson after losing the use of both engines.
To my mind, this incident powerfully illustrates at least some of the features of God's salvation ... .
