Family Worship Guide Memory Verse: James 1:2-4
Day 1: Read 1 James 1:2-4 and 2 Peter 1:3-9 and discuss: How is steadfastness produced from trials? Why are we encouraged to pursue steadfastness? Can you think of a time when something really difficult happened? What was your response? Did you feel anchored anything? Whether yes or no, why do you think you felt that way?
Day 2: Read James 5:10-11, Jeremiah 38:1-6, Job 1:20-21 and discuss: Why does James recommend looking to the prophets and Job as an encouragement? From the passage in Jeremiah, how could this be encouraging to us? How did Job respond to his suffering? What does this teach us about what our own response should be?
Day 3: Read James 1:12 and Hebrews 12:1 and discuss: Can you think of some examples of trials in our life that God has brought us through? What did victory look like? What does Hebrews teach us about trials we may have coming up in life?
