The high priest asked Christ 'of His disciples, and of His doctrine.' He probably asked Him what most ask, "How many disciples do you have? . . . Who are they?" If the Lord had answered him He could have said, "I have 12 disciples and one of them is a devil. And they are from nowhere, just some fishermen, a publican and others." The world thinks numbers and smart and successful people are the mark of success and validation of the truth and a true church. But the opposite is true. Then the high priest asked the Lord of His doctrine. "Just what do you believe? What are you preaching?" The Lord answered, "Ask them which heard me . . . They know." If you want to know what a man preaches; what a so-called church believes, ask them that go there. Ask them which hear the preacher. There answer is all revealing.
