This 6th of 8 sermons on 8 hate attacks against the Christian values of a traditional marriage is Part 1 of 2 sermons on the 8th hate attack of homosexual marriage. In harmony with e.g. Matt. 19:9, Gavin says "in God's law that which is true of any invalid marriage e.g. bigamy..., is also true of...homosexual marriage, namely, the Biblically sound words of the Solemnization of Matrimony Service in the 1662 Anglican Book of Common Prayer, 'be ye well assured, that so many as are coupled together otherwise than God's Word doth allow are not joined together by God; neither is their matrimony lawful'." He refers to research conducted over more than 50 years, showing the homosexual population of about 2% in the Western World, is responsible for between 25-40% of child-molestation, & says "while I'm not suggesting that all homosexual or bisexual men are child-molesters; to allow homosexual men to marry & adopt children will, in all probability, facilitate a further forum for this statistically high proclivity of sodomites." He finds the evidence favours the view the poetess, Sappho of Lesbos (born about 620 BC), was a bisexual, although he notes others disagree & either think she was exclusively heterosexual or exclusively homosexual. From this & Micah 1:11, he isolates "for a period covering over 100 years from the late 8th century BC to the early 6th century BC,...a female homosexual epidemic outbreak in the eastern part of the Mediterranean World." The sermon ends with a call to repentance from such sins as "idolatry" & homosexual "fornication," with a turning in saving faith to Christ who died "for our salvation," and "rose again."
