David sinned in that he angered the Lord in numbering the people and once it was done he realized his sin. At that point God gave David a choice of punishments. Wisely David went with the one that offered a chance at mercy. That mercy though also cost him. We too are willing to do things but think twice when we realize it is gonna cost. Jesus even has told us that if we are gonna live acceptable lives for God it is gonna cost us some tangible things. Are we willing to give our all to the Lord?
