Moses' life shows us that God's plan triumphs over the plans of man. Governments can be very cruel and can be opposed to God. When the authority over us is opposing what God says, we have to choose whether we will obey God or man. Moses was drawn to the Hebrews despite the fact he was Egyptian royalty. Moses spent 40 years in royalty, then 40 years in the wilderness, then 40 years back in the wilderness. Moses is one of many heroes of the Bible who spent time away from their biological families. They grew up in the families that God placed them for His purpose. What looked like a miserable situation for Moses (tending his father-in-laws sheep), actually became useful to Moses when he lead God's people through the wilderness. God's plan for us is a useful and wise plan. God's plan is better than ours and He does have a plan for us. We all will not be famous, but like Moses' parents, their part was exactly what God had planned, giving birth to Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. Sometimes when we do what God says, circumstances will appear to get worse, but we cannot fear to obey God. God is able to take hopeless situations and display His glory and power to save.
