When something holds us in its grip—obligation, intimidation, bullying, coercion, physical threat, and so on—the one thing we need above all else is to be delivered from the bondage. We need to come clean with ourselves.The Strategy for war for many people in all walks of life who are in the grip of some enslaving power. Being held in bondage, they desperately need deliverance. But there is a problem. Many people love their addictions, for a number of them bring pleasure to the flesh.Josiah knew that positive action—bringing the good and godly practices back into the nation—was just as necessary as purging the land of wickedness and false worship. Josiah rejected God's warning not to confront Neco II in battle and he died as a consequence.If we fail to listen to God's warnings, we too will face the hand of God's judgment.You need to be clean in your life before going to battle. The sins of our nation are as serious in the sight of God as the sins of Israel and Judah were.
