Our new years resolution should be to love the Lord based on God’s Loving character. The cry of the soul of the Psalmist is to a personal, loving God who will hear and act upon his cry throughout his life. This is the God who gives us life and who has given us reason for joy and love. We should resolve to celebrate his love on a daily basis. Our God cares about us and feels our pain just as he did when Jesus cried for Lazarus. Christ is in you and by him you can share in God’s glory forever - that should be central to you this coming year. Unlike the God of Islam, our God, Yahweh, is a loving God. Our God is Gracious, Righteous, and Merciful. We should resolve to live for our God mindfully, thoughtfully, and intentionally and so be a witness to others in how we relate to him.
