Acts 16:6-15 – Ministry by the Seaside – Sermon Outline Intro: The Spirit blows where it wills to save sinners, and it blows God's Ministers to seemingly out of the way places to preach the Gospel so that God's elect will be saved. Need: Wise planning and the Spirit's guiding should go hand-in-hand in the Church's Ministry. Paul and company are strategic, and yet when the Spirit indicates doing something "unusual", they obey and are blessed. Theme: The Holy Spirit directs Gospel ministry in order to construct Christ's Church.
1. The Holy Spirit forbids Paul from preaching in certain places to preach in Macedonia (6-10). 2. The Holy Spirit guides Paul to preach at a small, seaside prayer meeting of women. (11-13). 3. The Holy Spirit opens Lydia's heart to receive Christ and show hospitality to the Apostles. (14-15).
