Well Christmas has come again. All the anticipation, all the waiting, all the excitement of presents and food has come again. For a whole month now, we have seen the lights, the ribbons, the trees and all manner of decorations that pointed with anticipation to this day we now celebrate as Christmas. And as we see in so many cards, and pictures and Nativity scenes as the one we have here in our church, we see the baby Jesus all bundled up in cloths lying in a manger, surrounded by Mary and Joseph, the shepherds and wise men. All depicting that night the Christ was born. And as sweet, cute and cuddly as it is so often portrayed, we often… not forget, but may not always think of it, that this, this tiny babe depicts our God. That in the hub bub of the season with presents and food and fellowship we… need to remind ourselves that this tiny little babe in the manger was and is… our God, and our Redeemer and Savior from our sin. |
