“ Are you Elect? ”
First off the audio is tedious. It sounds like Todd is at the beach. But the sermon is tolerable.
Now, the subject is very necessary. I have listened to & watched this sermon several times & it doesn't get old.
Todd begins by defining election in several ways. One of which is God's ancient choice of His people before time began & the other is in Ephesians 1:4.
He points out that those who are elect practice 3 things - the work of FAITH, patience of HOPE & labor of LOVE. He also mentions that the elect have the JOY & PEACE of believing.
The 7 evidences are listed in 1 Thessalonians 1:1-10. Todd enumerates each one & they are as follows: 1-Gospel (not in word only), 2-Following Christ, the Lord, 3-Having received the word, 4-Being an example/form/pattern, 5-Sounding out the word of God (not ashamed of the gospel), 6-Turning to God from idols, 7-waiting for the Son.
If you want to check yourself, this would be a good place to start. Are you elect? Or are you delusional? One way of finding out is when you wake up in the end & see where you land. Do you want to wait until then? I wouldn't recommend it.
