Do you ever wonder why Jesus died on the cross just for us? Jesus shed His blood as a fulfillment that was in the Old Testament. Back in the Old Testament in order for the people to have their sins forgiven, they had to have a lamb that was slain. The requirements for this lamb were: male, prime of life, spotless, and innocent for the guilty. Jesus became the lamb for us, and shed His blood so that our sins may be forgiven. When Jesus died on the cross, He said “It is finished”, means today we don't have to have lambs slain for our sins to be forgiven. The perfect Lamb, God's Son, came to earth just for our sins to be forgiven by the Heavenly Father. We have redemption through Jesus' blood and our sins are forgiven. All we have to do is believe on Him who died for our sins.
