Abimlech obeys the Lord and restores Sarah to Abraham. We see Sarah vindicated & honored as she increasingly assumes the profile of a woman of faith. The Lord restores Abraham to covenant intimacy, once again placing him in the role of intercessor in behalf of Abimelech's household. We learn that the Lord is our Rescuer and that we, as the sons of Abraham, are called to be intercessors. What an encouragement to pray. After all these years of seeking God for a son, Abraham prays for Abimelech & the women in his house bear children! Surely God will hear Abraham's prayer for Sarah, his wife. But Abraham needs to honor his wife, lest his prayers be hindered.
