It's really distressing, saddening, and disheartening to see how Mary is misunderstood and mischaracterized by the Roman Catholic Church. The veneration of Mary. They say they don't worship her but they honor her. They pray to her. They see her as a kind listening ear that can then get the attention of Jesus, like a Mediatrix, a Co-Redemptrix, as if we need someone else to mediate between God and us. The Bible says there is one Mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus. Probably the only person more grieved than Mary herself by this unbiblical and ungodly practice is God. She is probably secondly grieved more than anyone else in heaven, depending on the knowledge the saints in heaven have of what's going on down here. But we should look at it in the right way, in the balanced way, the way the Bible shows it because the Bible does have things to say about her and when we understand it correctly, we have a biblical balanced view of her like every other saint, every other true believer we are told about in Scripture. We should think about what the Lord tells us in his word about Mary and how that exalts her son, our Lord, her Lord.
