Those who have died in Christ are more alive than you are right now! Jesus teaches us that when God raises us from the dead, we will never die again. The resurrected Christian cannot die anymore, his or her existence is everlasting. At the resurrection, we will have resurrection bodies like Jesus and the angels. It is hard to fathom but denying divine mystery based on what you now know is not saving faith. Jesus forcefully refuted the doctrinal error of the day. Sound doctrine matters a great deal to Jesus! It matters because He knows that a person cannot hold to serious doctrinal error and be rightly related to the God of truth. Since sound doctrine matters greatly to Jesus, it should matter greatly to us. You should care about doctrine because Jesus did and because your life both here and hereafter depends on it. Biblical doctrine is teaching from God about God that directs us to the glory of God. Sound doctrine is to be treasured in this generation and faithfully transmitted to the next.
