To be Christian one must know and accept the gospel. The Good News of redemption, that Christ - the 2nd person of the Trinity, lived a sinless life and died, as a payment for the sins of His people. In its simplest form the gospel says, Christ died to save sinners. God alone takes the initiative. God alone does the work. God alone gets the glory.
What do we do? We believe. We accept this truth of God and this work of God on the basis of the word of God and the promise of God by faith alone.
This is the gospel.
