John Wesley summarizes the lesson of this sermon, "Earn all you can, save all you can, give all you can." We're called to set our affections on things above rather than vain riches. Therefore, the opposite of stealing is not mere honesty but Christ-like generosity, a life of giving rather than getting (2 Cor 8:9)
